Spain is one of my favourite European holiday destinations; you can fly there relatively cheap, sunshine is guaranteed, and I love eating in the local Tapas bars, and visiting the markets where I buy local fruit and holiday gifts.

I'm lucky that my parents own a holiday apartment in Playa Flamenca, near Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca region of Spain. When I want to get away from it all I book a flight with one of the low cost airlines and book a taxi to the apartment.

Everyone needs a holiday in the Sun to make them feel good and I really enjoy relaxing in the sun on the rooftop solarium, having a BBQ, and drinking Spanish red wine. In the morning I usually sit on the balcony, have my breakfast and people watch.

The beach is only 15 minutes bike ride away, or you can take a taxi into Torrevieja and relax on two of the nicest beaches on the Costa Blanca's. Only three hours coach ride away is cultural Barcelona, one hour away is Benidorm and the nightlife.

The apartment has two bedrooms, a decent size bathroom, nice kitchen with all of the utensils and equipment you need to rustle up the local delicacy. The living room is bright and airy, with doors to the balcony.

Our community also has a tennis court, and swimming pool, local Irish bar, bank, restaurants and supermarket to buy all of your groceries. You can hire a bike and peddle around the community to find your feet.

With this type of holiday it's very important that you buy adequate travel insurance to cover you against any illness, delays or cancellations. By booking with the owner you're getting experienced advice from someone who's visited the apartment and location on many occasions.

My business is Worldwide Holiday Homes and we rent out holiday apartments and villas in Spain. If you're looking for holiday accommodation in Spain then drop by our website and let us help you find a perfect holiday home.
